Chasmosaurus

About Chasmosaurus

Chasmosaurus was discovered and named in 1914 by Lawrence Lambe. The name Chasmosaurus means "Ravine Reptile," and comes from the fact that its neck frill had depressions that resemble the ravines found on the countryside. Chasmosaurus was a medium size ceratopsian, or horned dinosaur. This dinosaur was different from other ceratopsians because it had two eyebrow horns that were longer than the horn on its snout. Other than that, Chasmosaurus resembled other horned dinosaurs, with its beak-like mouth, short tail, and powerful pillar-like legs.
