Rhoetosaurus

About Rhoetosaurus

Rhoetosaurus is one of just a couple sauropods believed to have lived on the continent of Australia. This dinosaur is very similar to other sauropods of the age, such as Shunosaurus from China. Rhoetosaurus was discovered in Queensland, Australia, in 1924 by Heber Longman. This heavy animal had powerful elephant-like legs which it used to support its body. Some paleontologists believe that Rhoetosaurus had a spiked, club-like tail, but there is no fossil evidence to prove this.
