Tropeognathus

About Tropeognathus

Tropeognathus was discovered in Brazil. It lived near coastal waters during the Cretaceous Period where it hunted fish and other animals living in the shallow waters. Tropeognathus was very large. Its wingspan was nearly 20 feet (6m) wide. Tropeognathus had a large bump on the top and bottom of its beak. Scientists believe that this may have helped Tropeognathus remain stable as it flew over the water, dragging its beak under the surface.
