About
Pachyrhinosaurus
This medium-sized horned dinosaur was discovered and named in 1951 by Charles M. Sternberg. Hundreds of individuals from this species have been found in multiple locations. It is believed that Pachyrhinosaurus probably migrated in large herds.
Like other horned dinosaurs Pachyrhinosaurus had a large neck frill, a parrot-like beak, and horns on its head. What made Pachyrhinosaurus different from other horned dinosaurs was its thick nose bone.
This thick bone may have been used as a battering ram against other members of the herd, or against enemies.
