About
Edmontonia
Edmontonia was one of the last armored dinosaurs to thrive during the Cretaceous Period. It was also one of the largest armored dinosaurs, standing at over 7 meters in length, or 23 feet.
This huge dinosaur had massive and powerful legs to support its weight, and was covered in long sharp horns, making it a dangerous adversary.
Edmontonia was discovered in 1924 by George Paterson near Red Deer River in Alberta, Canada. It was named Edmontonia in 1928 by Charles M. Sternberg.
Because complete skeletons of Edmontonia have been found, we know more about this dinosaur than many other armored dinosaurs.
Edmontonia appears to have had pouches in its cheeks suggesting that it spent a lot of time chewing its food. This animal had a sharp hard beak that it could use to cut through plant material.
