About Edaphosaurus

While Edaphosaurus resembles many dinosaurs, it is actually a Synapsida. These animals were very common in the early Permian Period. Edaphosaurus' tail probably served as a temperature regulation organ. Cold-blooded animals cannot regulate their own temperature. After a cold night, they must wait for their bodies to warm up before they can move. Edaphosaurus may have used its fin-like sail to collect more heat from the sunlight and pass it on to the rest of its body through its blood. Edaphosaurus was a gentile plant eater.
